Publication Opportunity
Participants of the 42nd Danubia Adria Symposium on Advances in Experimental Mechanics will have the opportunity to submit their extended research work to a Special Issue of the journal Metals.
The Special Issue provides an opportunity for authors to further develop their symposium contributions into full journal papers. Submission to the Special Issue is optional and will follow the regular peer-review process of the journal.
Awards
We are pleased to announce that, with the support of MDPI and the journal Metals, two awards will be presented during the 42nd Danubia Adria Symposium on Advances in Experimental Mechanics.
The awards are intended to recognise scientific quality, originality, and outstanding contributions in the field of experimental mechanics. Each award includes a monetary prize of €200, provided as additional support accompanying the recognition.
Final decisions will be made by the Scientific Committee.
MDPI Best Student Presentation Award
The MDPI Best Student Presentation Award will recognise the best student contribution presented at the symposium. The evaluation will consider the quality of the three-minute presentation, the scientific content of the poster, and the overall poster design.
The award is open only to contributions presented by students.
MDPI Best Keynote Lecture Award
The MDPI Best Keynote Lecture Award will recognise the best keynote lecture presented during the symposium. The evaluation will consider scientific quality, relevance to experimental mechanics, clarity of presentation, and overall impact of the lecture.

The Opening Ceremony will include a brief overview of the symposium programme, followed by a welcome address from the Dean of FESB and a few words from Prof. Ivo Alfirević, one of the founding members of the Danubia-Adria Society.

Closing Ceremony & MDPI Award Presentation
The symposium will conclude with a short Closing Ceremony, including final remarks from the organisers and the presentation of the MDPI Best Student Presentation Award and the MDPI Best Keynote Lecture Award.
All eligible symposium participants will be considered for the awards, regardless of whether they are able to attend the Closing Ceremony. Award recipients who are not present will be contacted by email following the symposium.

The scientific programme consists of Keynote Lectures and Poster Presentations. Authors are kindly asked to respect the allocated presentation times in order to ensure that the symposium programme runs according to schedule.
Presentation Template
An official DAS 2026 presentation template is available to provide a consistent visual identity for symposium presentations.
The template includes space for the:

Use of the template is recommended but not compulsory. Authors may use their own presentation design provided that the presentation is clear and suitable for projection.
Keynote Lectures
Each keynote lecture is allocated 20 minutes in total:
15 minutes — presentation
5 minutes — questions and discussion
Presenters are kindly asked to prepare their presentation so that the 15-minute presentation time is not exceeded.
An official DAS 2026 PowerPoint presentation template is available for authors who wish to use the symposium layout. Use of the template is recommended but not mandatory.
The presentation should clearly indicate the title of the contribution, author name(s), affiliation(s), and paper ID.
Poster Presentations
Poster contributions consist of two parts: a short oral presentation followed by a dedicated poster discussion.
Each contribution is allocated 5 minutes during the oral Poster Session:
3 minutes — presentation
2 minutes — questions
The purpose of the short oral presentation is to provide participants with a concise overview of the work and highlight its most important results.
Following the oral Poster Session, all presenting authors should proceed to the poster area in the lobby and remain next to their posters during the scheduled Poster Discussion session.
This part of the programme provides additional time for participants to ask questions, discuss the presented research in greater detail and interact directly with the authors.
Authors are therefore kindly asked to participate in both the oral presentation and the subsequent Poster Discussion.
Poster Preparation
Posters should be prepared in A1 format (594 × 841 mm).
Authors may prepare their posters using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, LaTeX, Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Publisher or any other suitable software. There is no mandatory poster template.
The poster should clearly include:
title of the contribution
author name(s)
affiliation(s)
paper ID
objectives of the research
methodology
principal results
conclusions
Authors are encouraged to use a clear and visually structured layout, with sufficiently large text, figures and graphs so that the poster can be comfortably read from approximately 1–2 metres away.
Before printing, authors are advised to export the final poster to PDF format and verify that the document dimensions are correctly set to A1.
*Authors are responsible for printing their own posters and bringing the printed poster with them to the symposium.
*Poster boards and the necessary materials for mounting the posters will be provided at the symposium venue.
*Authors should place their posters in the designated poster area according to the instructions provided at the venue.
